Summer Camp for Rising Grades 5-7

A 1-week summer camp from 9am to 1pm for 8 students. 

There will be a set project each day, with more advanced students able to diverge and try their own thing. We'll spend time on the first day mapping out what students want to work on and calibrating the class to their experience level.

This is the perfect environment to learn to throw on the wheel.   Make a set of plates, mugs or bowls.  

Each day will highlight a new technique and provide examples from art history or local ceramicists. On Friday, students will have time the second half of class to photograph their work and learn about the process of building a portfolio.

General Daily Schedule

• 9am: hand-building / some wheel throwing
• 11am: lunch & outside time. walk to river for inspiration, sketching outside
• 12pm: glazing
